A traditional family business that’s been in business for over40 years, today Richards is run by Master Butcher Darren Trainor, who took over from his father.
The shop, the longest-serving butcher’s in Downpatrick, is something of a hub for local people who call in for a chat and perhaps to pick up some of Richards’ famous sausages (made on site). People also travel some distance to get here, because the quality is so good—all locally produced, expertly prepared Irish meat, chicken and pork.
